CODEO to observe Atiwa Parliamentary By-Election
The Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) and the Coalition for Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) will observe the Atiwa Constituency Parliamentary by-election to be held on August 31, 2010.

Towards Effective Regulation of Executive Power
The above is CDD Ghana's latest publication. It features presentations by Dr. Nii Armah Josiah-Aryeh and Mr. Kwame Gyan, both lecturers of the Faculty of Law, University of Ghana, Legon. The first presentation considers within a legal framework issues relating to the impact of excessive executive discretion in the allocation and enjoyment of property rights in land. The second paper examines Ghana's land administration structure and the role politics plays in land administration in Ghana. Copies are available at the Balme Library, Legon and at the CDD Resource Center.

West Africa Election Observation Network to hold first meeting in Accra
The Ghana Center for Democratic Development and the Coalition of Domestic Elections Observers (CODEO), in collaboration with the National Democratic Institute (NDI), are hosting the first Technical Steering Committee Meeting of the West African Citizens Elections Observation Network in Accra.

CDD INVITED TO OBAMA CONFERENCE FOR YOUNG AFRICAN LEADERS
CDD-Ghana's Head of Programmes, Kojo Pumpuni Asante is in Washington DC to take part in President Obama's Forum for Young African Leaders. The August 3-5 Forum provides a platform for about 120 Young Leaders from across Sub-Saharan Africa to describe their vision for Africa's future and how the United States can better partner with Africa's non-governmental and business leaders to support political, economic, and social development on the continent.

89% of Ghanaians don't have copies of the Constitution
About 89 percent of Ghanaians in a household survey conducted by the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) do no have access to a copy of the constitution in the country.
