West Africa Election Observation Network to hold first meeting in Accra
The two-day event which takes place at the M Plaza Hotel would provide a platform for strategic collaboration amongst citizens’ observation groups in West Africa. Participants will adopt strategies aimed at institutionalizing and standardizing domestic elections monitoring in West Africa to promote credible elections in the sub-region. Representatives from six non-partisan citizens’ elections observation groups from Guinea, Senegal, Nigeria, Liberia, Mali and Ghana will attend the meeting. The meeting will be also host Dr. Christopher Fomunyoh, Senior Associate and Regional Director for Central and West Africa (NDI) and Mr. Pat Merloe, Senior Associate and Director of Elections Programs.
The event is funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED).
