CDD to organize a forum on the State of Democracy in Ghana
As part of activities to mark this year’s World Democracy Day which falls on September 15, the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) is creating a platform for Ghanaians to reflect on the state of democratic practice in the country and to propose measures aimed at consolidating the country’s burgeoning democracy.
The United Nations General Assembly in 2007 passed a resolution encouraging governments to strengthen national programs devoted to the consolidation and promotion of democracy and to observe September 15th each year as the International Day of Democracy.
CDD, with support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and with the collaboration of Joy FM will organize a panel discussion on the Super Morning Show on the state of democracy in Ghana. The program will also solicit the views of listeners on how to strengthen democracy and good governance in Ghana.
