CDD-Ghana/French Embassy signs MoU
The purpose of the “Local Democratic Debate” project is to increase citizens’ interest in the management of their districts and improve their involvement and participation in local government. It will also encourage citizens in the project area to initiate their own community development programs and facilitate interaction between traditional rulers and local government authorities.
Speaking at the signing ceremony at the Center, Mr. Charles Bonhomme, Director in charge of Public Sector Reform and Decentralization at the French Embassy in Ghana said the initiative will enhance the credibility and accountability of local government among citizens of the area. The project covers all the 17 districts in the Western Region.
