CODEO briefs donor elections sub-group on BVR
The Coalition of Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) which has been observing the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR) exercise has presented key findings of its observation to the donor sub-group on elections in Accra.
Prof. Miranda Greenstreet, Co-Chair of CODEO shared the Coalition’s observation methodology, it’s field monitoring checklists and questionnaires, and a summary of the key findings on the BVR exercise to the group. She also presented a brief outline of the Coalition’s election activities for the rest of the year.
The Donor Sub-Group on Elections was set up under the Multi-Donor Budget Support (MDBS) project to bring together Development Partners supporting Ghana’s 2012 elections and key stakeholders in elections such as the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC), civil society, the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE), the Media Commission and security agencies among others.
CODEO’s presentation was well received by all members. The group also expressed its appreciation to CODEO for responding to its invitation.
