CODEO DEPLOYS 7,400 OBSERVERS FOR TODAY’S GENERAL ELECTION
The Coalition for Domestic Election Observers (CODEO) will deploy 7,400 observers in the 230 constituencies, to monitor over 30 per cent of the 21,000 Polling Stations in the Country during today’s elections.
In addition to that, CODEO observers will be posted to the 230 coalition centres nationwide.
Prof. Miranda Greenstreet and Justice V.C.R.A.C Crabbe, Co-chairmen of the Coalition, who announced this at a press briefing in Accra yesterday, said an information bureau had been set up at the offices of the Ghana Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) to receive and process media enquiries on the election.
They said the bureau would receive, analyse and prepare the preliminary CODEO report on the polls.
According to them, a reporting structure had been devised to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of information to the CODEO Secretariat in Accra, and that on the basis of these reports, CODEO would issue a statement on its general impression of the polling around noon today, the election day.
