Wednesday, October 29, 2008

The Ghana Center for Democratic Development, CDD-Ghana has unveiled a commemorative sculpture as part of activities to mark its 10th anniversary celebrations. He said it is also representative of the “Kronti ne Akwamu” symbol which the Center has adopted as the  Adinkra (Akan calligraphic) representation of the notion of democratic governance and constitutionalism.

Prof. Gyimah Boadi said as a non partisan and non-governmental organization, CDD-Ghana is committed to promoting democracy, good governance and economic openness. He called on stakeholders in the Ghanaian democratic process—the government, opposition, political parties, constitutional bodies, civil society and the media to ensure a peaceful and clean elections, with credible outcomes.

The event which was held at the forecourt of the Center was attended by members of the CDD-Ghana Management Board, friends of the Center, representatives of civil society groups, staff and the media.
