Mission Statement of COPPED
To promote respect for fundamental human rights and dignity.

Objectives of COPPED

  • Supports local communities whose environments are under threat as a result of petroleum exploitation activities.
  • To mediate between communities involved in mutually destructive inter-communal conflicts, which COPPED views as intrinsically linked to the activities of multi-national corporations.

  • Mediation in inter-communal conflicts linked to activities of multi-national companies
  • Has succeeded in bringing peace to these communities
  • Has established relationships with several international peace organizations.
